The Birmingham Chapter of AAZK (American Association of Zoo Keepers) presents our 16th Annual Zoo Run: Sprint for Sloths; Run Because They Can't. This year we are opting to give runners the option of going virtual as well as in person. The money raised will be donated to The Sloth Conservation Foundation.
Should you opt to run a virtual race, you can complete it anywhere and anytime between May 21, 2022 and June 18, 2022 (World Sloth Day). In addition to our traditional 5K and multiple kids races we have added a 1 mile Fun Run option this year. Also, in honor of sloths, we have added a sloth lifestyle/t-shirt only option.
All in-person race participants will receive a custom race t-shirt, a Birmingham Zoo admission ticket and custom race bib, and free admission to The Birmingham Zoo. Awards will be granted to the fastest and slowest runners.
